POWER PLANT PROJECT

Assessment of extension of time claims submitted by the contractor due to variations, design changes, and other factors on behalf of the project owner. Additionally, under a separate commission, provided technical support to investigate an offshore pipeline accident and determine its causes.

DATA CENTRE

Preparation of extensions of time due to delays caused by site access issues and changes in piling works. Additionally, supported the contractor in preparing variation claims, back-charges, and other quantum related matters such as loss and expense and disruption claims for three packages.

Engaged to prepare contract advisory notes, including a contract administration paper for the client’s project team. Following submission of the paper, conducted a training workshop on contract review and management, specifically tailored to the project’s terms and conditions. Also reviewed a series of case studies provided by various project departments and offered professional opinions on the matters presented.

RAPID STEAM CRACKER COMPLEX

Engaged by the subcontractor to serve as a witness of fact for claims related to loss and expense and delay included in both the interim consolidated claims submission and the final claims submission to the employer. Also provided dispute resolution services arising from the arbitration proceedings.

GEMAS RAILWAY

Engaged by the contractor to provide advice on delay and quantum issues. This included guidance on heads of claims, content and details of the L&E, reviewing the contractor’s extension of time programme, baseline, schedules, and delay analysis. Also formulated and advised on strategies to achieve the best possible L&E settlement and prepared the L&E claims and reports for submission to the Employer.

COMMUTER RAILWAY EXTENSION

Engaged by the subcontractor to provide consultancy services regarding its letter of award, which involved preparing a preliminary report that identified risks, opportunities, areas of concern, and any contractual issues.

Engaged by the contractor to offer advisory services on the maximum amount the employer could claim for general damages and to provide a high-level calculation of those damages.

CHEMICAL POWER PLANT

⚲ Pasir Gudang, Malaysia

Engaged by the insurance broker to assess the damages claims submitted by the insured party to the insurer. The claims pertain to the loss and expenses incurred by the insured party due to an explosion at the plant.

HYDRO POWER PROJECT

⚲ Pakistan

Engaged by the loss adjuster to conduct a delay analysis regarding the damages to the contract work caused by heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding. This involved analysing the programmes, schedules, progress reports, and other relevant documents, and preparing a delay analysis report.

REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICAL INTEGRATED PROJECT

Engaged by the loss adjuster to provide independent advice on the expected project management team allowance for an EPCC rebuild project, including a separate assessment of the COVID-19 impact.

Also conducted a high-level review of the PMT rates applied to the loss resulting from an explosion and fire.

DAESAN NAPTHA CRACKING CENTRE (NCC)

Engaged by the loss adjuster to determine the interruption period resulting from fire and explosion damage to the building. This involved examining the impact of stop work orders, working hours, the use of mitigation measures, and providing an analysis with scenarios for the adjustment team’s consideration.

MID-RISE COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Engaged by the loss adjuster to provide independent advice on delays and associated damages arising from interruptions to the works. The scope included analysing project programs, delays to construction and subsequent tenant fitout, and associated costs.

SOLAPUR SUPER THERMAL POWER

Engaged by the loss adjuster representing the employer’s insurer to independently conduct a root cause analysis, damage assessment, and provide reinstatement support after a fire had caused significant damage to the construction work at the plant.
