Rab has been appointed as technical expert on more than 30 occasions and has engaged in expert witness work in international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, and mediation for disputed values over of £300 million; supported projects valued in excess of £3 billion. He has advised counsel on matters across Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Rab has previously worked as a principal contractor on major projects in the aviation, IT, and energy sectors. He has spent over 15 years in the fields of chemical and materials engineering working in markets spanning from education and research to industrial and military. Specifically, his experience extends to diversified industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, pulp and paper, water and wastewater, and power and energy. Nicolas has worked extensively on the development of innovative materials and processes, materials selection, field failure analysis, emergency repairs, and redesign of existing large industrial equipment. He is highly knowledgeable of most electrochemical tests and thermo-mechanical tests and has evaluated the reliability of materials and products using accelerated life tests.
