West 6th Apartments
Tempe, Arizona
Scope of Work
Rimkus has been engaged to perform a structural inspection and assessment of the balcony edges at the West 6th Apartments property. The purpose of this inspection is to evaluate the extent of deterioration and verify repair needs prior to the development of detailed structural repair drawings. This engagement was initiated following an incident in which a portion of concrete detached from a balcony on the 14th floor, falling to the street below and prompting the need for a rapid response inspection of all balcony structures for safety and integrity. During the course of the construction and repair process, a windstorm event caused additional damage to the glass guardrails, necessitating a secondary site assessment and repair response to document and address these impacts.
Services Provided
- Structural inspection and assessment of balcony conditions.
- Development of structural repair design drawings.
- Construction administration services during implementation of repairs.
